With or without fixed cable? Charging without a fixed cable has the advantage that you can charge both cars with type 1 and type 2 connections with separate charging cables. A fixed cable is a bit more convenient to use because you don't need a separate cable.

Type 1 or 2?

The choice between type 1 or 2 depends on your car. Japanese and American brands work with type 1. European brands and Tesla work with type 2. However, Europe has decided that in the future cars may only be equipped with type 2. 

Regular or smart poles? Nowadays all kinds of extra gadgets can be installed. For example, a smart pole can tell you your exact consumption (cost). This can be useful if your employer reimburses you or if you want to include this in your accounting.

With or without lock? Is your post hanging in the driveway at home and can everyone access it? Then you might prefer not to take any risks and opt for an extra lock.

How much do charging points at home cost?

The total cost will therefore be somewhere between €1.000 and €3.000.
